Herbal Remedies for Dandruff and Eczema

Dandruff and eczema are skin condition symptoms of an imbalance within the body. Cedar wood, rosemary and lemon essential oils are good for oily skin and dandruff. Lavender, geranium and sandalwood are good for dry flaky scalps and skin. Dry eczema is often stress related. Juniper berry is a blood purifier that helps stabilizes these conditions. These essential oils are used externally and mixed with carrier oil.

Burdock, Arctium lapa, is used to relieve dry and scaly skin conditions and for removing body system imbalances that produce skin conditions such as dandruff and eczema and psoriasis. To take internally, put 1 teaspoonful of root into a cup of water and bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes and drink three times a day.

Then wash hair with mild un-perfumed shampoo the next morning. Repeat the treatment every two to three days and decrease to twice a week when symptoms start to improve.
